WITH WHO?

Community Partnership

The Compost Collective is a Community-based Volunteer Organization. We accomplish this mission with a holistic approach of remediation of the soil, sustainable gardening, and educational opportunities.

Where is it?

When?

The mural’s location will be on Yellowstone Boulevard, right in the center of The Compost Collective’s garden site. Set under an inactive train overpass, the painting’s size will span over 3,000 square feet, making the mural impossible to avoid. Yellowstone Boulevard is one of Forest Hills, Queen's most highly trafficked streets for both vehicles and pedestrians alike. Additionally, the site is less than a half mile away from Woodhaven Boulevard, another main road in the southwestern section of Queens accessible by multiple sources of public transportation that connect surrounding major cities like Manhattan and Brooklyn.

— Kilbane, the artist who spearheaded the public art project from October through November 2021. That was artist ErinKelli’s motivation when creating and carrying out the new mural she designed for the outer walls of Cargo Cafe in St. George.
I am truly thankful to everyone to have been a part of this experience, without YOU, MY COMMUNITY, it would not have happened.
